Motorola, Huawei Form UMTS/HSDPA Partnership

Motorola announced it has signed a deal with Chinese Huawei to develop UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) and HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) network equipment. Under the deal, the two companies will create a joint R&D center in Shanghai to develop network equipment products. This collaboration is expected to generate cost-saving and time-to-market advantages for both parties.
